The thali

The "thali" is something precious for all religions. There are lots of designs for Thali according to the caste and generations. The Thali is in gold but before the marriage, the chain is in thread with turmeric and after that they'll change it in gold. In the marriage, the groom put the Thali in the bride's neck and they get married. After the marriage, the bride shouldn't remove the chain.
If she remove the chain, it means that her husband has died.
But now, it's not like that, if you don't want to wear it, they can remove it.

Antony and Cleopatra

I read “Antony and Cleopatra”, this is one of Shakespeare's play. This love story is between Antony and Cleopatra.
Antony married Cleopatra and stayed in Egypt. Antony is one of the three heads of Rome. The other two heads get angry with Antony. After few times, another country attacked Rome, and they lost one part of Rome. Antony came back to Rome because his family died in the battle. And three heads attacked that country and they won. Cleopatra wants to kill herself, at this time her servant send a message to Cleopatra that she went to kill herself. Antony died when he returned to his country. But Cleopatra didn’t want to die so she came back. When she saw Antony's body, she wanted to die so she put the poisoned snake on her body. And they both died. I don’t love it because at the end it finfished sadly. But it is a good love story.

The Groom

Who's the Groom?
A bridegroom is a man who will be married or a man who is already married.
In India, a groom is always followed by his friends. A bridegroom wears the dress which suits the ceremony. In Hindu ceremony, the groom wears light colored jackets with a turban.
The family of the groom arranged the reception like a grand party, the friends and the associates are mainly from the groom side in this ceremony.
The ring ceremony

In India, the ring ceremony is an important one. The bride and the groom both have to make each other wear a ring just to show they are definetly taken!! =) Sometimes, the families play tricks to the newly marieds. Once, I attended a wedding in which the famillies had hidden the rings in a big plate full of yogur and (eatable) rose petals. The lovers had to eat all the yogurt to find the rings.

According to the Indian culture, the bride has to wear a cotton saree which is named " Kurai ".It is a checky saree made with gold threads.
And the groom has to wear a silk dhoti with a white dress.
The relatives have to put a gold coin which is attached by a yellow thread on the forehead of the bride and the groom. The couple has to wear a flower garland.
