YESTERDAY TSUNAMI

Yesterday, on the 11^th of April, I was in the theatre of M.Valavane because I was practicing for the play “Romeo and Juliet”. At 3’o clock, my teachers asked to go home because there would be a tsunami in Pondichery at 5’o clock...In Indonesia, the first temblor of 8.6 magnitude struck at 2.10 p.m. It was followed by aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 6.6 to 8.2.

Tremors of varying intensity was felt in a Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh, and Karnataka ….

But, there were any tsunami so I was disappointed.

April fool tsunami !!!

Yesterday, we went to the movie,there were all our friends. While we were watching the film a few of us have received a message in their mobile telling us that the tsumani had come to Indonesia and could occur in Pondicherry.Some of my friends were afraid, others were still looking the film. At the intermission of the movie we went out to buy something to eat, so there we also called our parents to request information on the tsumani. Everybody knew about the tsumani warning, even our school was closed down at 3 o'clock in the after-noon. Some gave returned to their homes by being afraid of this rumor.The movie ended around 6pm in the evening.So we went out and we were talking about this false alarm that has disturbed all people !!

Earthquake in Indonesia

Yesterday, in Indonesia there was an earthquake of magnitude 8.7 at 2.30 pm. At this moment I was in cinema theatre with my friends watching a new movie.
There was a roomer that there would be a Tsunami at 5 pm in Pondichery. In Chennai, at 4.30 pm there was an earthquake of magnitude 6.5. Everyone in the cinema theatre were shocked and were making calls to their families and having some news from them. But nothing happened in Pondichery. There were no tsunami nor earthquake. We were all safe. But everone had been frightened, and alerted.

That was an april fool on the 11th of april.

An April Tsunami Like An April Fool

Yesturday was just a simple afternoon when, suddenly, around 3 p.m., all the phones started ringing... Everyone was informing us there was a tsunami alert! We were just sooooo scared because on TV, it was said to stay at least 200 meters away from the cost but my home is like directly on the beach! As we live on the 3rd floor, we were safe, but all our neighboors who live down came up and settled themselves on our terasse to watch the sea and check the waves. We waited all afternoon for the supoze-to-come" 6 meters-high-wave... We got to know an earthquake had happened in Indonesia and the wave was suppose to come from there... We are still waiting for it!!!!

A strange afternoon on 11th april 2012

Yesterday afternoon we were watching a movie in a cinema theater(Adlabs).
We were very excited to go to the cinema theater with our friends and with our english teacher. While we were watching the film, suddenly my friend has got a shocking call. This was a shoking call because , the news was that there will be a Tsunami in Pondichery at 4'o clock and they said also that there will be a earthqueake. That earthquake started at Indonasia, so the indian police alerted in pondicherry that maybe there will be a tsunami or a earthquake in pondicherry within 20 days.So all the people who were near the beach, started to pack their things to go out of there. In lycée français de pondichéry,all the +2 students were attending an exam, but suddenly the princîpal came and said to get out of there, so all the students went back home and bit frightened.

At 3 30, my teachers asked ous to go home because of an alert of Tsunami in Pondichery. i thinked fisrt that it was just a joke but it was sirous, the lyçée asked to students to go home.... So I go home and I learn that it was the truth. I saw lots of poeple moving; pannicking, shoutting.... I already know that the Tsunami won't come. I wanted to afraid my freinds by the latest news but they already learn that......
But I don't care of Tsunami!!!

A tsunami alert in Pondicherry

Yesterday, the 11th of April, 2012, I was in my house watching TV quietly. Suddenly, in all chanels, flash news were coming. These news said that a tsunami is coming at 4°clock in the afternoon. I was a little bit afraid. All shops closed around 3 °clock. People were running all the sides. In fact, an earthquake with 8.9 richter meter, came in Indonesia. Because of that, some scientists said that in Tamilnadu a tsunami will come.
At the end, no tsunami at all !
I was very disappointed!!!

Mumtaz was born in 1593 in Agra and she was into a Persian famlily nobility.

They get married in 1612, and Mumtaz was the third and favorite wife of Shah Jahan. They had fourteen chidren but unfortunately Mumtaz died accidently while giving birth to her 14th child. Shah Jahan built the great Taj Mahal in memory of his true LOVE and enventually is wife. But he was put in jail by one of his son. That jail was just in front of the monument, finally he died seeing his wife's tumb. This is a famous romantic story in India.

And the son and father did a big war but Akbar knew he'll won because Salim army were too weak and he won. And Salimwas sentenced to death and Anarkali intervenes and renounces her love to save Salim. She is entombed alive in a brick wall right in front of Salim eyes.

Rama and Sitha are the most known couples in India and Nepal. This story is held in Ramayana. Sitha married Rama because He was the only one to attach the string in the heaviest bow. After the marriage, they were banished of the kingdom, so they went and lived in forest for 14 years.

Then one day Ravanan arrived to small hut of the 2 couples and kidnaped Sitha when Rama went in search for food. Sitha was brought to Srilanka. Rama couldn't find her anywere so he asked help to his devotee Hanuman. Hanuman went to Srilanka and found Sitha, he gifted her the ring of Rama.

Then Rama and his troup went and fought for Sitha. Rama and Sitha returned to the forest.

After 14 years they went back to the kingdom. King Dasharatha was dead and it was the 3rd son who had the trone. After Rama and Sitha had arrived Rama got the trone and lived happily again.

There were a king and a queen named Himavantha and Menadevi who were devotees of Shiva. They wanted their daughter to become Shiva's wife. Their daughter, Parvati, also worshipped Shiva a lot. But Shiva was meditating an wasn't paying attention to the beautiful girl. For years, he did not open his eyes. Parvati woshipped him everyday. Then she started to meditate with the god. But when Shiva woke up after a long time, he tested Parvati's love. He changed into a normal man and asked Parvati to marry him. But she replied she would only marry her Lord, so Shiva, turning back into his real shape, accepted to marry her.The wedding was beautiful !

Cyclone ''Thane'' in Pondicherry

It was a horrible night (dec 29th) ! There was a cyclone called ''Thane'' with loud wistlings : I was frightened by those blowings ! All the trees were uprooted in my street and some houses roofs were flooded. The violent cyclone started at midnight and I woke up at 3 a.m. in the morning. I didn't sleep a wink and all of my neighbours, also ! But after some hours, the cyclone slowely stopped and the people came out of their houses. And everything became stable !

It was a unforgetable moment that I survived in my life !

I am going to tell you how I survived the Thane Cyclone , at night of Thursday the 29th December; it began raining at 10 when I was in front of my computer watching a new released film. It raised about 1 o’clock of the morning when I was trying to get asleep. But I wasn’t feeling very good with the sound of the whistling wind that was swaying the trees and was clapping the windows. Finally I slept about 3 o’clock of the morning.


I woke about noon when I saw the biggest disaster of my life, the broken windows were in my living-room, and the trees of my garden were uprooted. There was a power cut, I didn’t have water. So I passed the whole day in front of my French book.



My parents told me that the cyclone passed Pondicherry at about 6am with a speed of 145 km/h. They didn’t allow me to go out because lots of trees were uprooted and all the streets were blocked. But I wanted to see what was really happening outside. And I saw that houses were flooded, some steal roof sheets blown out and some cars were crushed by trees.
I think it isn’t the very good beginning of 2012 and unfortunately there was also 11 deaths.Most of the name boards of the shops were flown away all over the pondichery.

Cyclone Thane!!!!

The cyclone Thane was very horrible.The wind was blowing all night on the 29th December 2011. In fact, i was sleeping but i heard the sound of a terrible storm and also there was no electricity. Trees were falling down and electricity cables were cut along the streets.There was no power for 3 days in out of the city.Trees, Traffic lights and shop signs lay scattered on every street in Friday. People who live near the beach were the worst affected.The roof tops of my school were completely destroyed, the gigantic tree in our school was uprooted, all the trees were looking like skeletons without its branches and leaves,due to this disaster we had 2 days of extra holidays.It was very fine because of the live.

Terrible Thane cyclone ! ! !

From 29th December 2011 to the New year 2012 was the terrible day on life. cyclone Thane was the most horrible and violent cyclone I have ever seen in my life. 29th, 1 p.m, the wind started whistling until night. At nignt, the power was cut because the electricity cables were torn by the wind and the dogs were barking but I was sleeping normally. In the morning, I opened the door, and I saw the trees had fallen and the street ... I saw some news about pondichery in my laptop like we haven't power for few days, the goverment will give to every family 2000 rupees for the damages, approximately 150000 trees which fell down in Pondicherry,and others. Is that the beginning of the end of the world ?

Cyclone Thane In Pondichery...

I'm lucky because I wasn't in India when the cyclone arrived in Pondichery. The 31 december 2011 at 10 pm(before celebreting New Year), someone called me and told me all things about cyclone in Pondichery... I can't bilive it, I thinked that it's a false alert. But to check: I go to Youtube to see some video, and it was true!
Some peoples told me that after the cylone, there was no electricity, no water for 3 or 4 days! They told me also that the cylone is someting new for them but bad also...

On the 29 of December I was in Cuddalore in a village. At night he power was cut. The cyclone started around 2'o'clock in morning But I woke up only at 4. The window were making a terrible sound because of the wind. In the morning I saw the streets: all the trees were uprooted and the houses made of leaves have flown away.

There were no power, no water, and there were water all around the house !

There were no power for 1 week in Pondichery and Cuddalore

The goverment distributed 2000 rupees to all famillies and in Cuddalore 5000 rupees.

Terrible cyclone of my life!

The cyclone Thane was very horrible. The wind started flowing the night of the 29th December 2011. In fact, I didn't sleep a wink because of the sound of that terrible storm and also there was no electricity at all. Trees were dancing and electricity cables dangled along the streets.

Fortunately, my house wasn't flooded but banana trees fell down and other trees were uprooted in my garden. The next day, an auto passed by my home to give food to poor people who didn't have.

The government has given 2000 rupees per family for the cyclone 's damage.

It was the most horrible and terrible cyclone of Pondicherry. After this event, Pondicherry has turned into a swamp or rather turned into a forest!!!

Few days later there was a false alarm which said that there was an earthquake in Kadalur so I wake up at 5 o' clock the morning.

THANE CYCLONE

Thane cyclone is the very severe cyclonic storm that crossed Tamil Nadu and Pondcherry

On Friday morning. Throwing life off course, the storm, which passed the coast north of Cuddalore at 6.30am at a speed of more than 125 km an hour, uprooted trees and electric posts, disrupted power supply and transport services and damaged homes and standing crops. Twenty-six people were killed in Tamil Nadu and Seven in Pondichery. Besides, hundreds were rendered homeless and forced into relief camps set up by the governments.

Affected families receive food at a rehabilitation center.

Electricity was completely stopped there was no power for threes days in my house and the current is not yet come to the villages and the city completely surrendered to the dark. In pondichery, there are lots of current line was fall by the cyclone.

In pondichery, the streets remained eerily empty as thane moved away from Pondchery leaving a trail of destruction.

Trees, Traffic lights and shop signs lay scattered on every street in Friday.

People living near the beach were the worst affected and the windowpanes rattling.

Before the cyclone started, power went off and the noise got scary.

A part from damage to life and property, the cyclone has caused extensive damage to cash crop, particularly coconut and banana trees.

How i survived cyclone thane

Hi I’m Marie-José, In the Friday 30^th December 2011 at 4’o clock A.m, I didn't sleep a wink because there was no electricity, I was so scared, because that night there was a cyclone named Thane which was attacking Pondicherry and also it was raining. In the morning when I left my room and came out to see that cyclone, I was shocked when I saw that horrible, terrifying scenes “my house was floated”, “the trees were uprooted”, “the wind was blowing”, “and the roofs had been blown away”. And my dogs had got fear so they started to bark. Happily and at 10.00 A.m, the cyclone Thane was crossed the beach of Pondicherry. And I was intresseted to watch the Pondicherry’s streets so I went out. All the trees were falling down; the towers of electricity were falling down also. A real nightmare

The cyclone called Thanae was very horrible and terrible. The wind started flowing very fast around 1 o' clock the 30th December of 2011. I didn't sleep a wink, because, first of all there was no electricity, and there were so much noise because of the gusts of wind, like something falling on the balcony, dogs barking, and the sound of the wind.... My house was a little bit flooded, because it was also raining. The trees were swaying and there was approximately 150000 trees which fell down in Pondicherry. That night was like a nightmare, but a real one, . When I went out around 11 o' clock in the morning, I can't see Pondicherry normally, but a "forest" full of trees. Most of trees were uprooted. All shops were closed. Thank god, there weren't so many damages in my house.

There was no electricity for 4 days in my house, because I don't live in the city, and the phone connection was cut for one week.
We can conclude that the cyclone was so nightmarish. In Pondicherry, there was many structural damages.

TERRIBLE DAY IN PONDICHERRY

On 30^th December 2011, morning around 2’o clock in my house, the power was cut but I just wake up at 3’o clock. I went to balcony and I watched the shops in my street. Some tube light broke and the pieces of tube light came into my house. So I came and slept. At 6.30 am I wake up and I went to beach when I went to the beach, the Pondicherry beach has totally changed because on 29^th December when I went to beach at evening, the wind was blowing fast. The waves were very huge, the cell phone towers were fell down. On the way, the big trees have fallen down in the street. I got scared so I returned to my house the banners and the sheets were flying. So I came to my house very fast.

At night 10 pm, the power came back but there wasn’t TV connection. I used to see all the information from the internet. That day was very terrible in my life and there weren’t milk and water. Most of the place, the power came after four days.
